Sage Majewska
they/their
Surveillance
Sage is a visual artist focused on surreal depictions of intangible concepts, attempting to give form and language to the unknown. Their work explores liminal states and in-between experiences through layered visual narratives.
Inspired by the intricacies of human interaction, they bring their background in Sociology into their artistic practice. They aim for their work to be bold and engaging, inviting viewers to challenge their own perspectives. Through their art, they question power dynamics, influence, and systems of observation. Their work seeks to create striking and unsettling imagery, provoking reflection through discomfort. They believe discomfort can create space for the reconsideration of values, intentions, and identities.
More recently, their practice has focused on surveillance and the act of observation. Observation has long been central to their process, from sketching in public spaces to drawing the human figure from life. Maintaining an open mind is an essential part of both their art-making practice and the experience of engaging with the work itself.
