Muno

Muno is a full-body gestural controller for digital music software that allows musicians to create sound through movement and dance. It offers an alternative mode of music production that is more dynamic and physically engaging, while seeking to alleviate the frustration and disconnection experienced by many musicians working with digital tools.

By moving, waving, or striking the air, software instruments and effects are modified in real time, with a light grid providing visual feedback. The system transforms the space around the user into a zone for music creation and enables digitally native musicians to explore sound within an open, naturalistic environment, free from overly technical interfaces.

Music is often created to be danced to, yet the production of electronic music largely remains a sedentary and detached process. Muno seeks to reintroduce this spirit of dance into the act of music creation.
