Through My Hair
Spring/Summer 2026 Womenswear
Through My Hair is an eveningwear, couture-inspired womenswear collection. It is a visual examination of my college experience, with a focus on Black hair. Throughout my time in college, the technology and structure of my many hairstyles served as inspiration and have been translated into sculptural forms. Exquisite fabrics and knitwear draping are combined with finely detailed handwork using real hair.
Through distinctive hairstyles, the collection celebrates Black excellence, originality, and culture. A ponytail extension becomes a love letter to the self; a “buss down” (lace-front wig) offers a style that enhances appearance without damaging natural hair; and box braids embody contemporary labour, care, and beauty.
