OCD, Rituals and Entrapment
My work explores the intricate relationship between OCD and fashion. The collection examines feelings of entrapment, where clothing embodies the rituals, repetitions, and patterns associated with both comfort and captivity. For those living with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, daily dressing routines can become systems of order used to regulate anxiety. By viewing fashion as both symptom and healing tool, the work allows clothing to express inner experiences and transform private compulsions into visible narratives of identity and freedom.
Inspired by architecture, ancient markings, and rhythmic patterns, the collection presents crafted womenswear pieces. Handcrafted crochet and knitting function as tactile records of mental states: a language of folds, knots, and repetitions that speaks to the invisible rituals of the mind, while inviting engagement with a journey of self-expression.
The collection aims to create emotionally resonant clothing that offers space for healing and self-discovery, positioning fashion as a powerful medium for expression and liberation.
