Forget Me Not

When human memory fails, what do we leave behind? In decades or centuries to come, when nobody is left to tell our story, what remains of us in our absence?

Forget Me Not emphasises the ways in which our belongings and environments hold onto stories, acting as anchors for our legacy long after we are gone.

Inspired by the fleeting nature of memory, the video game Forget Me Not tells a story in which the central character is nowhere to be found except through the traces left behind within their environment. Players explore the in-game setting of an abandoned laboratory, collecting information from objects found throughout the space in order to piece together the story of the person who once lived there.

Through its narrative, the work invites viewers to reflect on their own legacy in physical form. What do you want to leave behind?
