The Ghost of Marley
The Ghost of Marley is a body of work consisting of a series of screen prints and drawings centred on ghosts, paranormal sightings, and the concept of Pareidolia. Specifically, the work and accompanying research are rooted in a paranormal encounter relayed to me by my father throughout my childhood.
This research focuses not only on the encounter itself, but also on the surrounding landscape and the ways in which the human eye interprets unusual imagery in order to make sense of a moment.
Each of these screen prints has been hand-drawn and layered together to build fragmented, shifting images that mirror the uncertainty of the encounter itself. Through this process, forms emerge and dissolve as the mind seeks meaning within ambiguity.
