I have always been interested in alternative subculture and the art of self-expression. My work is situated within the realms of punk, labels, and community. My practice draws from personal experience alongside research into the punk and riot grrrl movements.
I work within an expanded print practice on soft materials and also make use of collage in order to examine the dynamics of labels within the punk scene. My work represents both a celebration of this community and an exploration of the underlying meanings of labels.
My aim is to soften the rough edges of the scene, allowing the viewer to be reminded of their own place within community and to form a personal connection with the work.
