This work explores the Irish landscape and our relationship with the natural world. It reflects on how nature is deeply connected to Irish culture, folklore, and personal identity and how, despite this, it is slowly disappearing.

We often overlook our surroundings or take them for granted. We become passive towards the small moments of beauty we encounter every day, whether running streams, wildlife, or woodlands. When we stop seeing, we become complacent about environmental erosion and increasingly disconnected from ourselves.

This project attempts to preserve and capture my personal connection to nature. Using techniques such as sandblasting, engraving, and vitreous paints on flashed glass, I document a familiar walking route near my home in rural County Louth. The piece acts as both a personal memory and a reflection on the relationship between people and place.
