Behind the Crimp

Mindless consumption is a significant issue within contemporary society, yet many of us are not asking the questions we should be. This body of work investigates the Irish alpaca industry, focusing particularly on alpaca fleece itself, while highlighting the labour involved in its production and the value of understanding the journey behind what we consume. Knowing where things come from, across all aspects of life, is essential in developing a fuller appreciation for what we have.

The careful documentation of the alpacas on Moonhall Farm acts as a visual reminder that it really IS that deep. Every strand has a story.
