The Ether Veil is a story born from the loneliness that can accompany growing up as “the weird girl”. Themes of belonging and hope are central to the narrative of this graphic novel. Inspired by the work of Toby Fox and Dana Terrace, The Ether Veil follows a girl who is lost and attempting to hold onto hope in seemingly impossible circumstances.

I want to create something that makes people feel seen. Meaningful representation is important to me because LGBTQ+ people, people of colour, and disabled people deserve to have stories told about them, especially within a world that is increasingly attempting to erase them. This graphic novel marks the beginning of a story that has evolved and grown alongside me, and which will continue to do so beyond this academic year.
