There’s Touch
Madison's work explores vulnerability and the emotional intensity of relationships from a female perspective.
Her work focuses on the thoughts and emotions that often stay unspoken: feelings that are too uncomfortable or raw to say aloud. She uses fragile surfaces to replicate how delicate and easily disrupted emotions can be within relationships.
Her work consists of figurative oil and acrylic paintings paired with embroidery and textile work. She creates these works by drawing on pieces of writing from her own diary entries, alongside spontaneous writing for specific artworks. These words are then stitched and embroidered into canvas revealing, only the reverse of the piece, displaying illegible text to the viewer in an attempt to be vulnerable while simultaneously protecting her private thoughts.
