Break The String explores the belief that people are controlled by societal standards and expectations in a similar way to how a puppet master controls a marionette. This eight-piece artisanal collection embraces the significance of “breaking the string” by blurring the lines between masculinity and femininity, while encouraging the interruption of this continuous cycle through self-discovery and the fearless expression of clothing.

Drawing inspiration from my positive childhood perspective on the world, in contrast to the societal pressures and restrictions later imposed upon us as adults, the collection uses dark humour to create playful yet sinister looks. Each piece within the collection offers carefully crafted, extravagant garments infused with a variety of skilful textile elements heavily influenced by feminine clothing.

Using a selection of both structured and organic silhouettes, the collection also experiments with unconventional garments by exploring the essence of movement and the embodiment of clothing. Through the use of vivid patterns, contrasting colours, and bold prints, the collection invites the wearer to engage in a truly liberating experience of self-expression.
