The Ephemeral Summer
Summer is a time when everything is in full bloom; life feels liberating and exciting. Each summer in my twenties has been spent working abroad, travelling, and meeting new people. As an independent traveller, I thrive on new experiences and living a busy lifestyle.
As the seasons change and the leaves fall from the trees, life becomes slower, and all I can think about are the ephemeral memories of summer.
I capture these moments through photography and later translate them into cyanotypes on textiles. The blue of the cyanotype references the long blue skies of summer and the expansive blue horizons of the Pacific Ocean.
I have repurposed a transparent bag — an object associated with my travels — to materialise the fleeting nature of memory and travel.
