PERCEPTION
This genderless collection explores how identity can shift when we become too aware of how we are perceived. The pressure of constantly thinking about how others see or perceive us can begin to distort or fragment our sense of self. Over time, that awareness can create a loss of control, where identity feels shaped more by external opinions than by anything internal.
Influenced by Donald Hoffman’s theory of perception (2019), the work considers how what we see is neither fixed nor entirely real, but instead something internally constructed and constantly shifting. This idea is reflected through distortion, layering, and repetition, where images are obscured, interrupted, and never fully resolved.
