The Light Will Change

A celebration of present moments and passing of time, The Light Will Change examines the relationship between personal archives and memory. In a world of instant and abundant digital documentation, there is solace to be found in the ceremonious act of capturing, viewing, and storing physical media.

By imperfectly pixelising one image through the methodical act of paper-cutting, Keelah takes the unrelatable, binary elements of the digital and transforms them into something that resonates with the human experience of presence, memory, and change. Small prints are tiled together in a large-scale installation that envelops the viewer in a fragmented world of presence. Her video work is embedded within a piece of found wood, tying the memory back to its capacity for growth and change.
