Generations

This project explores generational connection through the creation of heat-pressed jerseys and incorporation of crochet, inspired by my grandad, dad, and younger brother. My work focuses on how different generations seek the same sense of comfort, identity, and escape through different outlets. For my grandfather, this was religion; for my dad, this is running; and for my younger brother, it is video games. Although these interests differ greatly, showing the divide all generations face, they all serve as a personal sanctuary shaped by the circumstances they grew up in. Using crochet techniques and heat pressed designs, I aim to represent these intergenerational links through shared materials and symbolism. This project also acts as a commemorative piece for my grandad, celebrating the connections carried through family, tradition, and personal passions.
