vinyl-sync*

In 2026, the tools shaping creative industries increasingly automate skills, therefore removing the need to learn, to struggle, and to develop the human relationships that give creative work its meaning.

*vinyl-sync* is a parasitic device that attaches to a Technics 1200 turntable and beat-matches your records for you. Nobody asked for this; a turntable has no need to be automated. That is the point. By applying the logic of modern AI tools to a context which resists it, vinyl-sync** exposes the hypocrisy of technology that mistakes convenience for progress and efficiency for culture.

This project sits within a practice concerned with giving physical form to the implications of emerging technologies before the conversation moves on without us.
