Every Screen is a Store
You scroll. You click. You buy. You repeat.
Every Screen is a Store, explores how digital systems shape what we see, want, and purchase. Through a publication and a large scale receipt, this project reveals the structures behind consumer behaviour. As a result these structures become visible, despite often going unnoticed.
My work examines how trends, platforms, and algorithms guide and encourage repetitive behaviour. The receipt materialises these actions, translating clicks, scrolls, and purchases into a tangible trace. As a pair, the works move from revealing the system to confronting it. They aim to encourage reflection on the speed, automation, and repetition of everyday consumption.
An additional piece, The Weathering of Language, explores how language changes and deteriorates over time through erosion, fading, decay and even human behaviour. Like worn surfaces and signs, language is altered by use, reinterpretation and neglect. This, as a result, causes communication to shift and distort.
Frictionless, publication.
