You Are Next

The short film You Are Next is a dark comedy that explores how paranoia can distort perception and reshape interpersonal dynamics. Set in an intimate social setting, the film follows three friends whose casual gathering takes a tense turn when one reveals that they have found a knife. What begins as an ordinary interaction becomes increasingly unstable after they learn of a nearby murder, prompting suspicion to take hold.

As the group's trust deteriorates, the film reveals how quickly fear can override logic. The presence of the knife becomes a catalyst for projection. Through this, the film examines how collective paranoia can construct its own version of truth, regardless of evidence.

Humour is used to heighten the absurdity of the situation, allowing moments of tension and violence to coexist with irony. This tonal approach reflects an interest in how extreme emotional states can blur the line between the irrational and the believable. The work also leaves space for multiple interpretations, suggesting that perspective itself is unstable and shaped by fear.
