This project is a fusion of speculative concepts and optimistic visions for the future of transportation in Ireland. It imagines a Type 1 civilisation, a world where we fully harness all the energy on our planet. Transportation is an essential part of our daily lives, yet in Ireland we feel unsatisfied.

The illustrations and designs are retro-futuristic. The aesthetics are inspired by science fiction of the1960s and1970s, which reflect how ideals of the future look outdated the more we progress with our technological advancements. Engineering details and transport systems are often omitted in sci-fi art, and while the ideas in this work are fictional, they present what we could achieve through brilliant co-operation.

Step centuries into the future to Sunford City, a solarpunk city that has beautifully developed an ideal transportation infrastructure. It is the result of what continued research and teamwork could achieve in Ireland and beyond.
