EMPTINESS IS FORM

My work examines external and internal conflicts between mind and body, fuelled by society's exhausted narrative surrounding the female body, distorted idealisation and the relentless influence of diet culture in our world. I use art as a conduit to process and understand trauma. Drawing from my personal experiences by making invisible struggles visible, I want to communicate a secret vulnerability we all share.

Using photography, self portrait and moving images to develop expanded cyanotype prints, my work embodies a visual language that fills the void words cannot, allowing viewers access into complicated and shameful aspects of our psyche. My work encapsulates a single entity to evoke a sense of isolation. I create to understand my own presence in a space and to justify my own existence by placing myself directly within my prints.
