Corpus
Did you know you’re constantly at war? Your body is always fighting pathogens to keep you healthy. Cian Gallagher's large scale board game, 'Corpus' uses fantastical elements to bring immune cells and pathogens to life, helping educate the players on real world immunology.
A collection of traditionally hand drawn graphite and charcoal drawings depict the many cells and pathogens in an anthropomorphised setting. White blood cells are illustrated as knights fighting off monstrous bacteria and swarming viruses to help contextualise the roles each plays in the long battle to either keep your body healthy …or destroy it.
Inspired by experiencing Covid-19, Cian witnessed the lack of understanding, misinformation and general knowledge about how your immune system protects you. Backed by rigorous research, 'Corpus' brings a new perspective to immunology. The world Cian depicts seems fantastical. It is based in fact, and not far from the reality happening beneath your skin.
