Ocean Threads is a piece of work crafted entirely from the forgotten threads of blue denim. Each wave, and ripple is a testament to the beauty of the sea and also the beauty found in discarded materials.

My process began with sourcing pre-loved jeans and denim scraps, each with their own story woven into the fabric. These denim fragments were then meticulously cut, shaped and distressed and brought to life in a seascape through the patient art of sewing and hand-stitching.

To capture the dynamic energy and fluidity of the sea, I employed varied stitch densities, directional lines, and layering techniques, allowing the fabric's natural texture and the interplay of light and shadow to suggest the constant motion of water. It is a slow, deliberate creation, mirroring the flow of the sea itself, transforming what was once mundane into a vibrant and textured seascape.
