Simulacrum II
"Believe nothing you hear, and only one half that you see" (Poe, E., 1845).
Simulacrum II interrogates the relationship between science and spirituality, drawing on the ideas and philosophy of alchemists, alongside hidden social and political commentary. The main goal is not to find the 'truth', but to explore the ambivalence within otherwise rigid themes and structures.
Anastasiia is a multi-disciplinary artist. Working with installation, the focus of her work is on the viewer’s experience and storytelling. Her work explores the invisible forces and their physical manifestations – sound waves, vibrations, light, smell and time – and reflects on how human senses can be disrupted and manipulated in the light deprived environment.
