SPARK
Human interactions and the complexities of life are among my interests. Drawing inspiration from geometry, I like to capture and explore the organic contours and rhythms of nature, revealing spatial relationships, movement, and subtle dichotomies present within form and space.
The themes I explore through my artwork are the fragility of nature and the growing space between nature and man-made power. My current work uses a hybrid approach to explore styles, materials and techniques. Through the sculpting process, I have the freedom to explore the multi-perspectives of physical reality and emotions. I was drawn to the sculptures of Isamu Noguchi and the way he combined materials to create legends.
The 'SPARK' project is a materialisation of a spark from a bunch of rushes, followed by a team-made installation of St. Brigid crosses, glimpses from stone art, a lot of Opps,.. and, finally, poured in bronze and thrown in an assembly. In my belief, a project's mission is to foster curiosity, convey a verbal message through art, and encourage engagement and dialogue. The viewer is to grasp the image through own visual vocabulary, translate through own righteous prism and make own art verdict.
