Creative Arts Summer School 2026 presents the Visual Culture Workshop, 'Learning Through Looking' facilitated by Sadbh Maher and Kate McGowan. ***private event for invited participants***
The Learning Through Looking Visual Culture Workshop for Creative Arts Summer School is facilitated by Sadbh Maher and Kate McGowan. This is a private, closed event for invited participants.
The discipline of Visual Culture brings together ideas from fields of philosophy, sociology, and art history to understand how societies live, work, and communicate. Visual Culture uses materials such as film, fashion, and advertising to arrive at an understanding of our world, on very small or very large scales.
In this workshop, you will engage with a range of areas of study contained within the discipline of Visual Culture, and will conduct your own research and writing to try and arrive at your own answer to the question, What Can We Learn About The World From the Art and Design It Produces?
