Cloch Croí Crann (Stone Heart Tree) is a participatory art project combining collective cairn building, ceremony, and ecological restoration. Participants undertake a personal pilgrimage, carrying a stone to a shared cairn site as an act of reflection, remembrance, and connection to place. In exchange, each participant receives a native tree to plant and care for, extending the gesture beyond the ceremonial moment into an ongoing relationship with the land. Rooted in Irish ritual traditions and contemporary participatory practice, the project explores themes of grief, renewal, stewardship, and collective responsibility.
Through simple symbolic actions, Cloch Croí Crainn creates a shared social ritual that reconnects people with landscape, community, and ecological care.
